Aerobic System Maintenance

Aerobic systems require more frequent care due to pumps, aerators, and disinfection units. Our services include:

  • Add Chlorine in Pump Tank
  • Replace Air Diffuser in ATU
  • Clean Media, when applicable
  • Clean Aerator Motor and/or Filter
  • Test Photocell, Timer, Alarms, & Floats
  • Adjust Floats, if needed
  • Test Sprinkler Spray & Check Spray Pattern
  • Check Lid Locks & Risers
  • Break Up Scum in Clarifier in ATU
  • Check odor and turbidity in ATU
  • Check Water Clarity in Pump Tank
  • Record Depth of Scum and Sludge in Tanks
  • Check Aeration & Spray Systems Operation
  • Determine if pumping of the system is required

Traditional System Maintenance

Conventional systems are lower maintenance, but still need periodic care:

  • Tank pumping every 2 to 5 years, depending on usage and tank size
  • Checking sludge & scum levels to prevent overflows
  • Inspecting drain fields for signs of failure
  • Lid access & riser installation for easier future service

How do I know if my tank needs pumping?

We check sludge/scum levels and recommend pumping when it reaches one-third of tank

capacity.

Do I have to sign a contract for aerobic systems?

Yes, Oklahoma DEQ requires aerobic units to have a 2-year maintenance agreement with the

installer. We provide flexible plans after installation.

What happens if I don’t maintain my system?

Neglect can lead to clogs, system failure, property damage, and costly repairs.
